A recent sketch inspired by one of my favorite little stories.
A little girl walks onto the beach. She sees a man flinging small objects into the sea. As she comes closer to the water, she notices the shore is lined with helpless, beached starfish that have washed up with the tide, soon to dry up at the mercy of the morning sun. One by one, the man is throwing the starfish to refuge in the ocean. She approaches the man and asks, "Why are you doing that? The beach goes on for miles. You'll never save them all." The man looks down at her smiles. He says, "That may be so." He continues to throw the starfish back to the waves.
"But it makes a different for this starfish. And this one. And this one. And this one..."
